"There are many things to say about our son, Barrie. Lots of people knew him as Kendo,

Which is the MC name he chose. It means "the way of the sword". The strongest and lasting memory of barrie is his great love of music and life.

From a very early age, he would get involved in anything musical, at school or leisure

time. During his teenage years he was very rarely at home as he would be travelling to

all the corners of London to MC on pirate radio stations.

His commitment to music continued after he left school when he chose to work part-time to enable hime to pursue

a musical career. It was this attitude that made us so proud of him as our son and as an artiste. The tribute gigs at the

End and Bar Rumba were brillant and it was wondeful to see the amount of friends that turned up for him.

We are trying so hard to be as strong as he was when all the odds were stacked against him. He had two options:

to give up or carry on with his life. Thankfully, he chose to carry on and his positive attitude, strength of character

and love of music kept him going. There are so many lessons to be learnt from him. He always forgave, and knew

what was important in life.

He told people exactly how he felt and he seamed to know the meaning of life before he died. The more the disease

took hold, he became a philosopher and seemed to be able to "put the world to rights" with just one sentence. Barrie

was extremely caring, sensitive and a great listener. We had so many conversations about his music and his friends, in fact

all of the things that were so important to him.

We only have the strength to carry on because of Barrie and his brother, Paul as it would be an insult to them both if we were to give up. His attitude of life was to do everything possible and to live each day as if it was the last. Barrie is always

in our thoughts and forever in our hearts. The world is missing a very special person. We all miss him so very much.

Special thanks to Mace.
