Early - London: Genesis

Been nearly at the top of the pile as one of the busiest party outfits in London, fame, wealth and power within the growing pay party scene had it's own pitfalls. Around this time the pay party scene became more seedy and murkier for the partnership at Genesis when they started to recieve some unwelcomed attention from unknown quarters due to the overnight success of their parties.

Fearful of any repeat situations, Wayne and his partners had to enlist the help of prominent members from their local firm, West Ham's ICF to handle the security detail at their future gatherings. With some of the firm having gained experience as doorman and everbody seeing this as an amicable business arrangement, all parties reluctantly agree to this deal.

This odd business relationship will reap dividens for Genesis's management resulting in relatively trouble-free parties. As a payment for securing the safety aspect of their gatherings, the organisers will have to hand over a 25% stake in their organisation.

February

February 17th - London: Echo's Nightclub

After already hosting a bustling after-hours social in Mile End, Andy Swallow and fellow business partner, London circuit DJ Tony Wilson open Echo's nightclub in Bow, east London.

Split on equal measures, on fridays Tony had the venue to organise his "Adrenalyn" club and on Saturdays, Andy took over the mantle to host his "Pasha" parties. Seeing that Andy was also known as a co-founder of another organisation, rumours persisted that Echo's had loose ties and affiliations with their local football gang, West Ham United's ICF.

As with most things acid house so far, Echo's had become an overnight sensation which led to an another reputation for been a notorious gangland party venue which in turn alerts the Metropolitan Police.

February 25th - London: Biology

Fronted by Jarvis Sandy and Tarquin de Meza, an new organisation "Biology" from south London announced their intentions by hosting "World In Action" at Linford Film Studios in Battersea, south-west London.

Daring to be different from the rest of the pack, Sandy and Tarquin tried out a technological first on the thousand "guinea pigs" attending the party. Jarvis [ the boxing enthusiast ] organises a massive television screen so he [ and they ] could watch the "big fight" [ Frank Bruno vs Mike Tyson ] live on the big screen, making them the first organisation to attempt such a feat. Needless to say the projector broke down and the show must go on.

March

March 2nd - Manchester: The Thunderdome

The mancunians where restless as there was a nightclub that opened that competed with all-comers for the affections of it's locals. Situated on the Oldham Road, [ a known volatile road, north-east of the city centre ] a once Irish-pub-nightclub was adopted as the ideal venue for the Thunderdome.

Local DJ Steve Williams was selected to be the resident DJ who through sheer persistance, flawless mixing and his record selection will take clubbers on missions that will be the catalyst for many an up-and-coming DJ in years to come.

The more than rowdy atmosphere and the popularity of the Thunderdome will reach it's peak that summer when outside influences would start to surface inside the club which led to a member of doorstaff been shot and wounded - the local authorities reacted by shutting the club down.
