The venue was kept secret untill the last minute. Party-goers were told to report to selected pubs near the M25 motorway which orbits London. As hundreds of young people wearing acid house logos milled around at closing time, the organisers swing into action.
They used their mobile phones to dial their "runners" at the pubs, and the word went out: "The party's on!"
Convoys of cars surged on to M25 and sped along at speeds of up to 110 mph. More than 1,000 vehicles converged on White Waltham airfield near maidenhead, Berks at 1am yesterday and caused a THREE-MILE tailback. The sun's investigators built up a timetable leading to the drug crazed bash involving 11,000 youngsters in an aircraft hangar.
10pm: Party-goers meet at the Gamebird pub in Bushey Hertfordshire, two minutes drive from the M25. Police are out in force in case of trouble - but limit themselves to enforcing parking regulations to dozens of cars turn up, the scene is similar at dozens of pubs.
Midnight: After closing time a convoy of 20 cars and two vans crammed with youngsters moves to a nearby car park on the A41, police do NOT follow.

The "runner" for this area is named Tarquin and anxiously awaits word of the venue.
12:30am: Tarquin's mobile phone rings and he tells the convoy to head for to the M4. The destination is Maidenhead 40 miles away.
1am: A high-powered vauxhall astra GTI vrooms off leading the convoy at speeds of up to 110 mph.
2am: A three-mile tailback jam of cars, vans and full-up COACHES park on the approach road to the airfield as a team of marshalls direct them to parking spaces on the runway.
2:30am: Thousands are funnelled towards the entrance to the hangar - just 10 feet wide. Bouncers armed with a pitbull terrier and TEAR GAS scream at those without tickets to "f*** off".

3am: Two policemen arrive. Fearing mass panic and a hillsborough-style death crush, they order organisers to open the hangar doors.
4am: Organisers demanding £15 admission at last consent to open the hangar doors. The police presence trebles - to just SIX officers. Insiode the 250-foot hangar, a sea of revealing bodies bodies gyrate to the mind-bending beat, pumped out from 20-foot high loudspeaker system. A three-deep wall of thirsty ravers clamour to buy fizzy drinks. The floor is littered with tiny squares of foil - used to wrap Ecstasy tabs. The opium-based drugcan boost the sex drive - but side-effects include attacks of paranoia. Every ten feet someone is either rolling or smoking a cannabis joint.
5:00am: Vans arrive loaded with fresh suppliesof food and drink. Punters greedily snap thenm up despite the prices: £1 for a can of fizzy drink, watermellon at £1 a slice, peaches 50p, fruit juice £1 and milk £2.
6:00am: Bosses turn up in a black limousine to the access the profits. Touts hand out glossy leaflets advertising the dates of four future events - but no locations.
10am: Bleary-eyed party-goers stream slowly away.
A shadowy front man calling himself James Mitchell paid £1500 in cash to hire the hangar - claiming it was to be used for shooting a film. London-based construction giants Mowlem own the 33-acre aerodrome. Yesterday site manager Jim Clark 66, said:
