Quest is launched in a function room just above Picassos Nightclub in Wolverhampton. With a capacity of nine hundered and just one night to succeed, promoters Gerald Bailey and Carl Peddie booked a solid line-up [ Top Buzz, Dj Rap & local lad DJ Pilgrim ] and named their night "Quest".
With the demand for raving in the Midlands at a all-time high, the Quest team seem to be on to a win-win situation. The first night at Quest turns out to be a huge success and the promoters need to print some more flyers for next week!.
September 15th - Longton: Altern-8
Altern-8 turn up outside Shelley's Laserdrome in Stoke-on-Trent with a sound system on the back of a flatbed lorry as people are leaving the latest Amnesia House rave at closing time.
You may think that there isn't anything unusual by bringing a lorry to a rave but Altern-8 manage to play five tracks to a crowd of more than thousand ravers in the car park of Shelley's before the boys in blue from Longton police station arrive and move the crowd on. Some of the footage from the improvised concert was used in Altern-8's "Activ-8" video.

The Ministry Of Sound opens in Gaunt Street, near the Elephant and Castle in south London.
Brainchild of James Palumbo, Humphrey Waterhouse and Justin Berkmann, the "M.O.S" starts off its humble extenience inside a disused bus depot, far away from the busy nightlife in central London.
The Ministry Of Sound soon becomes a dance mecca because of its 24hr dance license [ events can be held at any time of the day ] and it's sound system. The Ministry Of Sound's sound system [ pardon ] has been specially designed and made by RLA, the same people who built Paradise Garage's soundsystem in New York, so it must be good!. Larry Leven designed the RLA sound system for the Ministry of Sound and DJ'ed alongside Frankie Knuckles in its opening weeks

October 4th - Worcester: Time
The midlands will shed a tear as today will see another promoter dissapear when Kenny Khan's Time holds "Back to Basics", their last ever rave at Offerton Farm in Worcester.
In just over a year, Time grew from a small club night in the middle of Birmingham into one of the biggest organisations in the Midlands holding events at the Porsche Club, Institute and the Aston Villa Centre in Birmingham, the Starlight Club in Bloxwich and the Marcus Garvey Centre in Nottingham.
Nearly five months to the day after sending off the Rag Market with the last rave at the venue, now is Time's turn to take a bow as another organisation says goodbye to the scene.
