April

April 3rd - Bedford: Equinox

In the wake of the management polictics and the departures of Supernova and Helter Skelter from their venue last month, it seems that the new owners at Milwaukees have a trump card up their sleeve.

They begin to host a new weekly event - Equinox at the Funhouse. DJ Lime, Axion G and Matt B came to Souldrop village to make this little piece of Bedfordshire buzzing again with the hardcore vibe.

April 9th - Stafford: Altern-8

Chris Peat - One half of the Altern-8, takes a stand as he flexs his political credentials. One of Stafford's recent heroes throws his hat in the ring as he enters as a candidate in the Stafford constituency at the General Election, representing the "Altern-8-ive" Party.

The end result may have come as a bit of a shock to him but... With a turnout of 82.9% of the local electorate, the count certainly favoured the Conservative candidate Bill Cash more than anyone else as he was duly elected for the constituency. Chris Peat, representing the "Altern-8-ive" party... Surprisingly came forth [ amassing 178 votes ] in the end, two votes ahead of Mr. Lines and the Natural Law party.

April 10th - Coventry: Energy & The Hitman And Her

Granada TV's The Hitman And Her programme's intrepid presenters Pete Waterman & Michaela Strachan

will miss out on the typical "Roxy" & "Ritzy" type venues for one night to present a extra special show at the monthly Energy rave from the club of the moment, The Eclipse in Coventry.

Shot in Pete Waterman's hometown, one of the most watched episodes in the shows history features music and interviews with Carl Cox and Dj Phantasy, freeky ravers crowd shots and there are also live P.A's from Altern-8 and Sunscreem.

The hitman's co-presenter Michaela Strachan has to leave the club because "it's too hot" and she also goes on to say "they've all got eyes like saucers" after [ allegedly ] being spiked. This particular show also marks a turning point in the shows fortunes as there was a record amount of complaints after the show is aired. The programme didn't paint the ravers at the club in a good light.

April 17th - Leicester: Club Rage

Micky Lynas' other rave venture, Nemesis from Leicester and Coventry's Amensia House pull their resources together to open Club Rage, a brand new rave venue in Leicester city centre.

Both camps [ Nemesis and Amnesia ] spend months refurbishing and decorating the venue with a dazzling array of spectacular artworks and murals on it's walls to grab their members and guests attention. Ravers in the midlands are going to have even more choices as there is another venue to go to this weekend!.
