But for most clubbers, Anthony Wilson is knowkn for running one of the most popular & talked about clubs in the early nineties, The Haçienda In Manchester.

Anthony Wilson, Peter Saville, Martin Hannett & Rob Gretton started Factory Records in 1978, Way before the "The Summer Of Love" and The Haçienda was opened even earlier in 1982 but when the much fabled second summer of love came around in the summer of '88, The Haçienda was in the perfect place at the perfect time.

In fact, the Hacienda was promoting club nights two years before the '88 explosion as the club was making a loss every time it opened. But with his entrepreneurial skills, Anthony Wilson Persuaded New Order who he managed at the time and who was having major mainstream success, to part with some of there success to help run the club.

The Haçienda played a pivotal part in early Rave culture with responsible for spurning DJ's who are now household names like Mike Pickering, Graeme Park, Jon Da Silva, Sasha & Mike Haslam cut their teeth at the legendary Venue. The club also coined the now famous phase of "Madchester" due to the nights that where held at the Haçienda and the atmosphere in Manchester at this exciting period in rave culture.
