Some may say it's dead and dark in Gravesend...

But we took a trip down the A2 through Kent and found a man who is definitely the light behind many of the rave flyers wee see today. Here is the behind the scene interview with Damon - atrist extraordinaire.

What is your full name and age?

Damon Kroonsberg, my father's dutch hence the name and I am twenty-five years old in March.

How long have you been designing flyers professionally?

Professionally... About a year, but my first flyer was for Biology in 1990.

How did you get into designing flyers?

Through a friend of mine - Budgie, a lot of people out there know him. He probably knows half of the promoters up and down the country and he got my "foot in the door".

For which promoters have you designed flyers?

Desert Storm, A.W.O.L, Roast, Thunder & Joy, V.I.P, Stush, Telepathy, World Dance, One Nation and Desire to name but a few. All in all their's about thirty clients on our list at the moment.

What do you consider to be the best flyer that you have designed?

Definitely the one at the right of the page - "Desert Storm" at the Sanctuary.

Do promoter's tell you what they want or do they leave it to you?

It's a bit of both, some just let me get on with it and some like to take a lot of interest [ Jay ], taking part in the actual design of it.

What where you doing before designing flyers?

I was working for a publisher who went swimming one day and never came back [ readers can you name this man? ] and no I didn't loose any pension money, we used the Apple Mac system doing boring trade magazines. Designing flyers just started as a little work on the side, it grew and grew until I was virtually running my own company as well. However I had to leave - not through my own choice.
