December 30th - National: Sunrise

Several big-name organisers are going to be in for a rough ride this new years as a national newspaper reveals the extraordinary efforts Kent Police's "Pay Party Unit" is going through to prevent any parties from taking place in their patch.

December 31st - Various: Sunrise

Tony Colston-Hayter and Dave Roberts plan to end a spectacular first full year for their organisations by hosting the "end-of-the-decade-mega-party" in a farmers field near Roydon, Essex. For the very first time [ and at some risk to them ] the organisers stun party-goers by printing the actual location of their party on their tickets before the gathering has taken place.

With just a few days to go before sunrise's party is due to commence, a national newpaper reveals that Essex Police will not let the gathering take place in their jurisdiction. With the legal defeat at Longwick still ringing in their ears, police officers subtly pay one of their courtesy "visits" to the landowner - who eventually gives in to their demands and calls off the gathering.

Sensing the authorities may try to pull the plug on the first venue due to their brazeness, the organisers fall back on their "plan b", a back-up venue. According to another newpaper report, the other field they found near North Barningham, Norfolk has been slammed with a high court injuction by the local council leaving Colston-Hayter and Roberts with the same predicament as their debut party.

Around 11pm, Colston-Hayter and Roberts throw their towel into the ring by sending a message to their information hotlines informing their convoy to head for Heston Services on the M4 motorway - the pair lose thousands on this risky new years operation. A few months later, the special Colston-Hayter-Roberts partnership comes to a end when they sell their party venture to a group of Amercian speculators.

December 31st - Slough: Genesis & Biology

Another would-be pay party alliance is formed when the seasoned veterans from the east-end coalesce with the brave, young upstarts from the south. This new years eve, the infamous trio from Genesis will join forces with Biology's Jarvis Sandy to host "Future Power People" at the National Panasonic Building in Slough, Berkshire.

During the night, both sets of organisers unwittingly hit the jackpot as another convoy of extra clubbers arrives at their gathering. After the palaver in the east and Sunrise conceded defeat to the authorities, Colston-Hayter and Roberts negotiated a deal for their guests to join the Genesis-Biology party.

December 31st - Coventry: Amnesia Promotions

At the end of of a very productive [ House I, II and III, and a series of parties at Chalkies nightclub ] first year on Midlands party scene, Amnesia organisers "Bambam" and brothers Neville and Keiran Fivey round off their year by planning a massive [ ten-thousand capacity ] new years party in Rugby, Warwickshire.

Bambam's and the brothers new years spectacle is put in jeopardy when the local council slam an high court injunction on the gathering to prevent it from taking place. On a new years eve that was more memorable by the heavy policing methods of the Warwickshire Constabulary, two officers are injured in scuffles and cars overturned as guests wage open warfare with the local authorities.

Amnesia's end of year gathering is halted after only a few hours.
