July 14th - Ryton-on-Dunsmore: Amnesia House

Amnesia House's bright start to their new residency at the Sky Blue Connexion in Ryton-On-Dunsmore, Shropshire is cut short as Matthew Hardy, a party-goer from Loughborough in Leicestershire was found dead not far away from their venue.

At Amnesia's next party, clubbing takes a back seat for a minute and becomes less significant when the resident MC Man Parris sends out a special dedication to him. The amassed crowd summoned all their energy to give their fallen a very loud send-off that anyone in the venue wouldn't forget.

At Matthew's funeral a few weeks later, quite a few big-name DJ's and hundreds of his friends and ravers turned up to say farewell to the fallen raver who was well known on the midlands party scene.

July 21st - Gildersome: The Love Decade

The local authorities up north are going to let everybody know that they are fed up of ravers, convoys, DJ's and illegal parties as they use practices not used since the advent of football hooliganism and the long-running miners strikes to detain and arrest eight-hundred-and-thirty-six party-goers at twenty-six police stations spread across the north after the commotion that was "The Love Decade".

On the night, everything seems to be going to plan for the organisers as they locate and crack open an abandoned warehouse on the Treefield Industrial Estate in Gildersome, West Yorkshire... But from the outset, all their moves are carefully observered as through their "intelligence", our learnered friends at West Yorkshire Police have already discovered the locations of the meeting points.

Sometime later, the organisers thought the coast was clear so they sent out their runners to pick up the waiting convoys from the meeting points... What they didn't take into account was that the local authorities were also waiting for them to arrive from a safe and discrete distance.

With the baying crowd outside waiting for some serious party action, at around 2am the orgainsers let in the first round of guests into the warehouse as they prepared for the party... But what they don't know is their travelling convoy and guests inside the building triggers off a massive chain of events - according to a newpaper report, a huge prevention operation by West Yorkshire Police comes into play.

Accompanied by a section of attack dogs and a helicopter, a column of elite police officers cautiously approached the warehouse slightly earlier than the incoming convoys and proceeded to lock-down all the surrounding roads, stopping a convoy of roughly two-hundred cars in the process.

Roughly three hours later and wearing full protective battle gear, another column of Yorkshire's finest attempted to storm the building but were beaten back by the clubbers who had barricaded themselves inside fearing the worst. The "gildersome-eight-hundred-and-thirty-six" valliantly held back the cream of the West Yorkshire Police force for another three hours... Until the police officers finally broke down their stubborn resistance and gained entrance to the building.

As the police officers stepped into the warehouse, they inexplicably started to let out hours of pent-up aggression and frustration by beating anybody within striking distance. After they finished their round of summary beatings, everybody at the Love Decade is rounded up, arrested for "breaching the peace" and taken to a range of police stations in Yorkshire and the surrounding counties. This draconian act by the West Yorkshire Police force is one of, if not the biggest mass arrest in british history.

West Yorkshire Police's heavy-handed approach to the Love Decade party would only provide minimal results for them as only eight people are ever charged with anything, including a fresh faced and defiant Rob Tissera [ who was playing at the time of the breakthrough ] recieving the ultimate penalty of three months of porridge.

Shortly after the illegal gathering, a series of damaging writs and compaints are sent to the under-fire police force and another newpaper report catalogues the anarchic chain of events at the Love Decade from a very different perspective.
