February

February 15th - Wisbech: Perception

Promoter Chris Griffin and his team of minnions move away from the comfort zone they created in the west country as Perception travels due east to host "The Warehouse Concept" in a massive warehouse near Wisbech Market in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.

This year will turn out to be a very hectic and controversial year for Chris and the team as in a couple of months they will host their first outdoor party of the year at Lords Farm in Farnborough, Berkshire. A few weeks later, Perception will start from scratch as they head to the capital for the first time to co-host a party with Telepathy at Marshgate Lane in Bow, east London.

February 16th - Longton: Amnesia House

From this point on, the Potteries will not just be famous for it's fine china and earthenware. Saturdays nights in Stoke will take a drastic turn for the better for it's local raving inhabitants because Coventry's Amnesia House will host their brand new weekly session at Shelley's Laserdrome in the Longton district of Stoke-on-trent, Staffordshire.

The crew continue from where their counterparts at Sindrome had left off by booking in crowd pleasers N-joi and Grooverider especially for their first start. Amensia House will also find the time to hand over a residency to local DJ Daz Willot after he tipped them off when the Saturday night slot became available.

February - London: The Prodigy

"What Evil Lurks" EP was released in February 1991

A few months back, a manager of a new rave group contacted Joe Wieczorek and Sue Barnes enquring about them booking this new group for a forthcoming party. Joe and Sue agree and give the manager the green light to invite the up-and-coming rave group from Braintree in Essex called "The Prodigy" for their first paying gig at the Four Aces club in Dalston, east London.

Liam Howlett, head of the four [ Keith Flint, Leeroy Thornhill and "Sharky" ] person group decides that their live PA needs a fifth member, an MC to round off the concept. An associate of the group suggests his friend Keeti Palmer [ a.k.a. "Maxim Reality" ] who he knows to be a good MC, in very great haste Liam drafts in Keeti at very short notice to MC at their debut gig.

The group could be in for a baptism of fire on their debut gig - As described by Joe, the previous live acts [ one act ] at their venue may have been bottled by the crowd and dragged off stage, the Labrynth crowd are a very hard crowd to please!. After a well executed eight-track set, the band come off-stage surprised and to their amassment they went down like a house on fire!.

So good was this new group, by the time the Prodigy played their sixth [ six weeks in a row ] gig at the venue, word had spread leading to queues going right round the block!.
