October 17th - Northampton: Psychosis
Bedfordshire ravers will be happy because their "local" will move up to the next level and join the big boys in the main arena... And about twenty-five miles up the road...
After a busy couple of months hosting mid-week raves at the Ministry in Bedford and using the valuable experience as a progression through the promotion process, Bedford's Psychosis joins up for the big league when they hold their first full-scale event, the "Timeslip" at the Roadmender in Northampton.
October 17th - Liverpool: Cream
After a chance introduction by Paul Roberts [ of K-Klass ] at the infamous Quadrant Park in Bootle, James Barton - who has been a pivotal figure within the Liverpool clubbing fraternity for the last four years, teams up with Darren Hughes and Andy Carroll to start their own venture "Cream" in the back room of The Academy in Liverpool.
Barton & Hughes then recruits local Dj Paul Bleasdale to be the first resident Dj at Cream alongside James Barton and Andy Carroll. For the 424 guests who were at cream's first night, they where treated
to performances by cream's new resident Paul Bleasdale, Paul Myers and special guest Fabio Paras.
October 30th - Exeter: Obsession
Gideon Dawson's Obsession, this time without the backing of Fibre Optic, finally hosts the showpiece "Third Dimension" event after a one false start and a month of solid nail-biting!. Tonight, all roads lead to the impressive Westpoint Exhibition Centre near Exeter for the first chapter in the Obsession story.
Despite the severe weather conditions which resulted with some of the DJ's not appearing on the night, Obsession's Third Dimension turns out to be a huge success. The only low point of the night is when the sound had to be turned down due to pressure from the local environmental health officers.
October 31st - Lydd: World Dance
Eight months ago London got a well needed shot-in-the-arm when Bliss burst onto the clubscene and created a phenomenon that is A.W.O.L at the Paradise Club in Islington, north London.
For this Halloween, Bliss will move their operational base away from north London into darkest Kent to resurrect a name from the oldskool past, "World Dance". A warehouse at Lydd International Airport is taken back in time as bliss's organises the party to end all parties.
Midlands favourite Micky Finn brings down the curtain on the now legendary venue as he has been chosen to be the last guest DJ at the venue. Thousands of Shelley's regulars are left heartbroken as their local gathering place is closed for good.
