November 8th - New York: Larry Levan New York's house scene is in mourning as one of it's finest exponents, DJ and producer Larry Levan passes away from heart failure aged only 38. Always living life to the full, Larry started DJ'ing in the '70's and was a major part of the infamous Paradise Garage in Greenwich Village that argubly gave us the first house nightclub and is widely known as the bithplace of garage. December - National: Eternity Magazine Wakefield in west Yorkshire is again put firmly on the hardcore map as the first issues of Eternity magazine are given away at raves and distributed to record shops in the north of England.
Eternity is initially given away to ravers to try and keep them informed on whats happening on the hardcore scene from the north of England, right down to the midlands. As the other bigger music magazines in the south are only interested in the development of house music and rarely covered topical issues or events on the hardcore scene, Eternity magazine aimed to address that issue.
