May 15th - Bournemouth: Fantazia

Fantazia make a long awaited return to the outdoors and offically kick-off this summer parties when they host their Summertime event at Matchams Park Stadium near Bournemouth, Dorset. In a freak turn of events, Fantazia promoter Gideon Dawson allows sixteen thousand tickets to be put into circulation, the Entertainments license is only valid for eight thousand.

In the days leading up to the event, local newspaper reports that there is some discontent within the local community. Community figures are worried about the event because they think the rave will bring random acts of violence and blatant drug dealing. On the day, sixteen thousand young and old ravers converged on Matchams stadium and proceeded to rave in the beautiful sunshine and then rave into the night listening to Easygroove, Top Buzz, Ratpack, Ratty, DJ Sy and many more.

All tickets to the event are sold out weeks in advance and the oversubscription of tickets leads to a fifteen-mile tailback on the A31 motorway. The chaos from the tailback is shown on itv's News at ten later on that day and Fantazia are unable to use this venue again because of their oversight.

May 23rd - Castlemorton: Castlemorton Festival

DIY and a collective of free soundsystems attempt to hold the Avon Free Festival, a annual free party at the normal site in Chipping Sodbury near Bristol. The collective are spotted and duly moved on to the next county by Avon & Somerset Police's "Operation Nomad", who are making sure that no events take place on their turf this summer.

The displaced soundsystems find out that there is a gathering taking place at Castlemorton Common in the Malvern hills. They also hear that all the other major soundsystems including Circus Warp, Bedlam and the Spiral Tribe are at the festival site already.

Later at the festival, tens of thousands of people turn up to the festival site after seeing footage of the party on BBC's Six O'Clock news!. Police from the West Mercia Constabulary estimate that on Saturday night, there were between forty to fifty thousand people on the site!. The event eventually lasts for seven days, made the front pages nearly every day in most newspapers and raised some major questions in the Houses of Parliament.

One exasperated local resident said to a passing news reporter:
